**What is the Vignettes**™ **Design Series Festival?**

The Design Series festival is an annual event hosted by Vignettes™. The festival brings together local architects, designers, artists, and makers to bring their best in collaboration and co-creation to build multi-sensory environments and dynamic installations.
Every year, the company takes over under-utilized properties in the downtown core and reinvigorates the spaces to draw in over 20,000 visitors during its festival run.
To date, Vignettes™ has transformed over 100, 000 square feet of vacant spaces in Edmonton’s downtown core.

Our festival aims to bring local creative communities together while celebrating art and design in our city. We add vibrancy to the downtown core through awe-inspiring installations and curated events.
Our journey begins here. In 2016, we took over a 20,000 square foot space and built installations and pop up restaurants in the downtown core.
Over 100 local creative entrepreneurs & businesses were involved in this festival.
Participating teams came together to build pop restaurants for local chefs | 2016
Our production team created a 20ft tree out of reclaimed bark | 2016
In 2017, we moved into a vacant warehouse. Each gathering space represented a different Canadian Landscape
The infamous Blue Room aka the Tidal Pool Bar | 2017
2018 was the year of EXPLORE where we transformed an empty bank into an interactive art Gallery
Hidden rooms and speakeasys are a festival staple.
2019 was the year of MUSE, ours being Yayoi Kasuma and her infinite red dots.
The Gatsby Inspired Speakeasy hosts intimate gatherings and live music.
Designers, artists, makers and builders come together for this festival to have full creative freedom to design and build to their hearts' desire.
